Mila is the agency’s four-legged Emotional Support Specialist and one of the friendliest faces you’ll meet at Youth Services. Whether she’s greeting families with an enthusiastic tail wag, offering comforting cuddles after a tough day, or making sure no snack crumb goes to waste, Mila takes her job very seriously. She’s also an expert tour guide and is always happy to lead visitors through the building—while protecting the security and safety of the agency. Her favorite part of every day is helping children, families, and staff feel welcomed, supported, and just a little more at home.
Spending time with a calm, friendly dog can help reduce stress and anxiety, encourage emotional regulation, and create opportunities for connection and communication. For some children, talking or reading alongside Mila feels less intimidating than talking to an adult, making it easier to build confidence and express their feelings. While Mila isn’t a therapist, she is an important member of our care team, helping create a warm, safe, and welcoming environment where healing, growth, and hope can flourish—one snuggle at a time.
